It’s a day that probably has a lot more significance than just green beer, but since I don’t know what it is, I’m going to focus on green makeup instead!
Some of my friends happen to be beauty junkies as well, and subscribe to various beauty boxes filled with random monthly goodies. The beautiful thing about it for me is that I often get “weird” and “unusable” products tossed my way. Green shimmer eyeliner? I’ll take it! Green eye-shadow? Pass it here!
The reason I like trying out different products is because it’s not about the one single product, but rather about how you work it. Confidence is number one, followed by how you wear it and what you wear it with Read more
The main thing I learned, by reluctantly doing my makeup in the morning (nope, not a morning person) is that in order to look put together in a short amount of time you must touch every surface. What I mean by that is don’t leave any part of your face out! It’s just not fair. Even though you don’t have a lot of time, applying foundation and simple barely-there eyeshadow will do wonders!
Here are the simple steps I take to achieve a simple 5 minute look (& a few tips and tricks along the way):
I’ve been looking for a way to organize my jewelry, in particular my bracelets, which were usually all piled up together in one box or another. I wanted a bracelet holder which would allow me to see the bracelets that I have, keep them organized, and easily accessible. I’ve seen generic bracelet holders (usually just black) at various craft stores, and decided why not just make my own?
I had all of the ingredients already laying around in my place, and I suspect you do too. All you need is:
Beauty in the most unexpected places brings a smile to your face. If you use binder clips, whether at the office or at home, decorate them with Wahi Tape for a fun pop of colour that is sure to brighten your notes!
Hello loves! It’s day 3 of Headband Series. In case you missed the other 2 you can check them them out here and here.
Today I have another beautiful Pink Pewter Headband perfect for your hump day! This one is so ornate and festive it makes me think of weddings, sophistication, and of course the floral motif is very reminiscent of glamorous vintage. Here it is:
So how do you wear something so fancy? Well there’s really no need to be fussy. Effortless but put-together is the name of the game. A simple romantic bun looks beautifully and flirty and takes no time to achieve.
If you’ve read yesterday’s post you know we’re re-purposing the beautifully bejeweled Pink Pewter bracelet. What are we re-purposing it for you ask? Hair jewelry! More precisely to decorate our sock buns.
Here’s a quick tutorial on how to make your very own carefully crafted, luscious sock bun!
1. Yes you need a sock
Grab a sock, preferably in a neutral colour that won’t blind if it accidentally peeks through. Cut off the toes, and roll it in on itself. Make a high (very high!) ponytail and place it inside the rolled up sock.
2. Spread it around
Bend forward and separate your hair such that it falls evenly all around the sock and secure it with another elastic. Read more
I won’t keep you waiting any longer. The time has come for me to share my awesome new Pink Pewter headbands with you, along with some simple hairstyles. These headbands are so gorgeous that they dress up any hairstyle, or lack thereof.
I’ve been playing with them all weekend but I first wore one to work this morning, and let me tell you, if you need an ego boost – wear Pink Pewter headbands! I can’t remember the last time I received this many compliments! These headbands are certainly unique and grab your attention, not to mention sparkly. Everyone loves sparkly.
Pink Pewter was kind enough to send me 4 samples of their beautiful pieces, and I intend on sharing them with you all week long!! The brand has a huge celeb following, and it’s no wonder with each piece being so beautifully unique and emanating the passion and love-for-the-art put into it. They are widely distributed internationally, and in Canada they can be found at Trade Secrets, or online at Amazon.ca

Every year for Christmas at work we have a girls’ gift exchange where you have to either make or bake a gift for the entire team of girls. As you can imagine you need to get creative and original and of course watch your wallet. The girls I work with are insanely creative so I thought I`d share some of the crafts with you to give you a few ideas for lovely hand-made gifts anyone on your list is sure to appreciate!
I`ve mentioned the beauty of DIY before, but let me just add that a pack of plain ornaments and a case of mason jars can go a long way in creating pro looking beautiful gifts!
1. Garlic, Rosemary and thyme olive oil:
This is such a lovely idea! Not only does it look beautiful but it`s a very useful gift. It can be used as a drizzle or a dip, and the little gorgeous bottles can be found at Michael`s
TIP: Make sure to get a spout/funnel to help you pour the oil into the bottles:
Pretty much everything I do is simple, and as the saying goes “Necessity is the mother of invention“. What is necessary for me is to be able to have a shower in the morning and wash my hair before work but not spend a million hours straightening, or curling, or styling it, because that’s not what mornings are for.
What I’ve been trying to do is come up with simple ways to put up my hair instead of just sporting a ponytail all the time. Although my hair is dry below (it’s second day hair), I will often wash my hair and blow dry just the roots. If I then braid it, or put it up, I look put together, I don’t have to leave my house looking like I just ran out of the shower, my hair dries nice and smooth, and it takes no time at all!
The good thing about this hairstyle is you only need 1 elastic, and it will still hold marvelously! Believe me this is key for those of us with thick hair. If I can put it up and not have it come down, I’m a happy camper. You can do this quick little bun on the go or after you’ve left the house, because it’s that simple. I did mine in 30 seconds but I’m sure with a little hairspray and a few more minutes you can dress this baby up, and make yours neater than mine.
I have to tell you about this lipstick, or lip stain rather.
A friend told me about it a while ago. She claimed that it stays on all night. What are the chances of a color staying on your lips after you eat, drink, kiss, or whatever else you do? But I figured I’d try it. It only cost $12 so I didn’t have too much to lose but potentially a new favorite to gain!
This lipstick is available in 30 different wonderful shades (click on picture for link). The one I’m wearing is ‘Keep up the Flame’ #025, but I have a feeling I’ll be adding more to my collection. This lipstick has 2 sides to it. One is the actual colour, and the other is the hydrating balm. After applying the colour your lips will feel a bit dry but that’s ok. Make sure the color dries completely and then apply the balm, which will hydrate your lips and add shine.
