I hope you’re having a great week so far!
With the warm sunny weather rolling around, I thought I’d show a natural and sun kissed look perfect for summer!
This look is very versatile and you can play it up or down as you wish.
I find that the canvas makes all the difference. Even if you do nothing else, just by applying foundation you’ll look more polished and put together. Read more
If you’ve read yesterday’s post you know we’re re-purposing the beautifully bejeweled Pink Pewter bracelet. What are we re-purposing it for you ask? Hair jewelry! More precisely to decorate our sock buns.
Here’s a quick tutorial on how to make your very own carefully crafted, luscious sock bun!
1. Yes you need a sock
Grab a sock, preferably in a neutral colour that won’t blind if it accidentally peeks through. Cut off the toes, and roll it in on itself. Make a high (very high!) ponytail and place it inside the rolled up sock.
Bend forward and separate your hair such that it falls evenly all around the sock and secure it with another elastic. Read more
The awesome thing about weekends is you can let loose! You don’t have to look corporate and mundane. You can experiment with colour and do whatever makes you feel good! You want to try out new shadows? Eyeliner? Different colour lipstick? Go for it!
Here’s a bit on inspo to get you started:
What I used:
To create this look I started with a primer & foundation combo. I didn’t apply bronzer like I usually do because I wanted to stay with the pinks, and apply a cozy pink blush, and light pink lip-gloss.
Hello gorgeous ladies!
I just want to put it out there that you are all naturally beautiful and really don’t need to spend a lot of time enhancing your natural beauty. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m participating in an event on November 12th, where I will be giving makeup tutorials on how to achieve the perfect 5 minutes face, which I believe is all you need to look polished and put together, so today I would like to share it with you!

Pretty much everything I do is simple, and as the saying goes “Necessity is the mother of invention“. What is necessary for me is to be able to have a shower in the morning and wash my hair before work but not spend a million hours straightening, or curling, or styling it, because that’s not what mornings are for.
What I’ve been trying to do is come up with simple ways to put up my hair instead of just sporting a ponytail all the time. Although my hair is dry below (it’s second day hair), I will often wash my hair and blow dry just the roots. If I then braid it, or put it up, I look put together, I don’t have to leave my house looking like I just ran out of the shower, my hair dries nice and smooth, and it takes no time at all!
The good thing about this hairstyle is you only need 1 elastic, and it will still hold marvelously! Believe me this is key for those of us with thick hair. If I can put it up and not have it come down, I’m a happy camper. You can do this quick little bun on the go or after you’ve left the house, because it’s that simple. I did mine in 30 seconds but I’m sure with a little hairspray and a few more minutes you can dress this baby up, and make yours neater than mine.
So without further ado, here’s my bun:
