Thank goodness for Canadian boutiques carrying British brands!
I am absolutely in love with Darling – an English brand I discovered while perusing Gather, my favorite boutique! In fact, I’m building quite the Darling collection.
This Milena Lace Tunic, is the only shift-style dress I own. I tend to gravitate towards more hourglass silhouettes, but I couldn’t walk away from this pretty cutaway detailing. The neckline, although conservative, feels very pretty and special thanks to the gorgeous and feminine lace. I got it on sale as it was part of the fall/winter lineup, which is slowly being pushed out to make way for spring, but I see a lot of spring potential! The material is lightweight so it will be perfect for a summer night. For more casual summer nights, I’d wear it with fun coloured heels or wedges, and maybe a thin belt. For fancier ones I would kick the jewelry up a notch with some classic earring, and keep the colour scheme more monochromatic with black heels to complete the look. As it is still winter, and it was a casual night out with friends, I wore this dress with black tights and the comfiest brown boots (Aldo?). Read more
Valentine’s Day is 2 days away and it’s a long weekend! That’s 3 days to look fun and flirty!

Crochet Sheath Dress – $30.28!
This shade of burgundy looks good on any skin colour. It’s a beautifully romantic colour fit perfectly for this colder time of year. I absolutely love the feminine shape of this dress and the lace detail. This is the kind of dress that will make me feel good. It’s covered, and isn’t too short, but hugs your curves at just the right places! And for the price? Wow!
I would wear this dress with black tights and likely black high heel boots, along with a fun blazer or beautiful cardigan to stay warm. Read more
Looking cute is a must, but dressing appropriately is paramount! Since Monday to Friday mornings usually consist of attempting to look adorable while pulling something from your closet with your eyes still half shut, anything to calm us down and reclaim some time in the morning is certainly welcome! I find that having an organized work wardrobe is just the ticket! You want to make sure that your pieces are interesting and reflect your personality, but versatile and can be mix-and-matched at the same time.
1. Invest in versatile dresses
Dresses that can go from season to season with the simple addition of a cardigan are a great investment since you’ll get the most use out of them. Pretty much as long as the fabric isn’t too thin and summery you’re good to go!
Well we’re officially into award season and red carpet events are in full swing. This weekend we saw one of the most exciting and star studded red carpets, filled with beautiful stars, heart warming speeches, and some definite trends.
What stood out to me was the amount of super low V’s – some more tasteful than others, LOTS of mettallics, followed by beautiful light yellows, and whites. Of course no matter the year no red carpet is complete without a few dramatic reds, blues/navys, and black.
The challenge? Create the perfect look for a New Year’s Eve wedding! The biggest hurdle here was narrowing down the choices since there are as many possibilities as there are colours!

1. Red & Gold
Red and gold are always a classic party look! I find this particular dress both sexy and elegant and definitely a classic for years to come. Have fun with your accessories – stick to a theme but everything doesn’t have to match!
I had a bit of a flash back to my teenage years today when I found this Forever 21 dress hiding in my closet. It’s a tad short so I paired it with semi-opaque tights and closed toe pumps for work. I threw on a long chain pendant to add some interest, and since it was a Forever 21 kind of day, I added a few negative space rings to really up the fun factor 😛
This dress is so funky cool! I own so much French Connection clothing it’s ridiculous. What I love about FCUK is that their clothes are always different, and interesting. This dress for example, what a neat pattern! And not only that, but the shape of it is great. It is completely covered up up top, but still sexy because it’s formfitting and has a slit along the thigh.

This is what we wore in the office today. My colleague and I both happened to go for a colour block look. I opted to go with a chunky statement necklace and Cardigan, and she went with a simple necklace and thin silver bracelet. Classy and adorable!
I love this black and white dress from Smart Set! I got it on sale (obviously) – click on the pictures to check it out on their site. I love how versatile it is! The length is appropriate enough to wear to work but its form fitting that it can be dressed up. I chose to wear it with flats for a chic yet casual look, and I plan on wearing it with a big sweater and booties going into the fall. There are so many more variations of different outfits to be made. I’ll definitely get some good use out of this dress.
