Every year for Christmas at work we have a girls’ gift exchange where you have to either make or bake a gift for the entire team of girls. As you can imagine you need to get creative and original and of course watch your wallet. The girls I work with are insanely creative so I thought I`d share some of the crafts with you to give you a few ideas for lovely hand-made gifts anyone on your list is sure to appreciate!
I`ve mentioned the beauty of DIY before, but let me just add that a pack of plain ornaments and a case of mason jars can go a long way in creating pro looking beautiful gifts!
1. Garlic, Rosemary and thyme olive oil:
This is such a lovely idea! Not only does it look beautiful but it`s a very useful gift. It can be used as a drizzle or a dip, and the little gorgeous bottles can be found at Michael`s
TIP: Make sure to get a spout/funnel to help you pour the oil into the bottles:
2. Things in jars!!
Delicious home-made caramel popcorn:
A cute little jar decorated with candy canes inside:
Savory cognac pâté:
As you can see there isn`t much left anymore. It was too good!
A hand-painted ornament with hot chocolate and dehydrated marshmallows inside!
Stained glass ornament:
4. Frosty hat candle holder:
I never noticed this either but apparently a little clay pot is the perfect votive holder! You can decorate it creatively and make it look like a fun top hat fit for the season.
5. All the bells and whistles!
I can`t believe this is home-made. This wreath is absolutely gorgeous and is made with little bells strung onto a piece of thick wire and decorated with a lovely ribbon.
Beautiful beaded wine rings:
These are so lovely! And let`s be honest we`ll all be cracking open some bottles…
6. Yummy treats!
You just can`t go wrong with delicious things! Package your delicacy nicely and it`s the perfect gift. Moreover you can make treats in batches – meaning more gifts in less time!
Who doesn’t love custard??
A banana bread loaf with cranberries and white chocolate, made the more adorable with a little festive spreader!
7. Decorative pieces for the home:
Beautiful rustic piece set in a flower pot with foam on the inside to anchor the pine cone, decorated with moss, berries, and leaves. Bonus: The store bought pine cones are scented creating the perfect Christmas ambiance!
8. Festive breakfast delight:
Place pancake mix in zip locks, and package together with some maple syrup and a good old spatula for flipping these delicious pancakes. Bonus: print a few recipes to take this gift to the next level!
I hope this gave you some ideas for DIY projects of your own!
Feel free to share some of your ideas with me in the comments.
